Inspection Guidelines
INSPECTION OF CONTRACTED EQUIPMENT
1. Each unit must have a company logo and number
2. The odometer reading will be notated.
The following components will be check for proper working conditions
3. Horn
4. Windshield (no cracks or pecks in driver’s view)
5. Wipers must be properly working.
6. All required Mirrors must be in mounted
7. Seatbelts
8. Parking brakes
9. Air loss on brake application
10. Emergency equipment must be in truck. (Fire extinguisher and Triangles)
11. No fuel leaks
12. Trailer pigtail must be in working order
13. Air lines must not leak air, and secured
14. Lights (all lights must work, included added lights)
15. Tire tread depths will be recorded (tread can not be less than 3/32)
16. All wheel lugs must be tighten (none missing)
17. 5th wheel will be checked for inoperative damage
18. Fuel tanks must be secured
19. Crossover must be in order
20. No Radar Detector
21. Frame must be in satisfactory condition
22. All brakes must meet required DOT rules
23. Brakes and pushrods will be gauged in measurements of 16ths (brakes can not be
less than 4/16th, pushrods can not exceed 2” inches.
24. Steering (pitman arm, drag links, suspension springs, tie rods, U joints and U joints)
must be in acceptable conditions.
25. Window Tinting must meet requirements
26. Stack Height
27. Low air warning device must be in working conditions
Driver must meet all of these conditions to pass a periodic inspection.
